    Topic: The Future of HR: What’s Next for the Profession

    Speaker: Nancy Conway, SHRM For most organizations today, the business focus has shifted from short-term survival to long-term sustainability as the U.S. and global economy continue to recover slowly from the 2008-2009 recession. Achieving sustainability will be a true test of HR leadership in the uncertain economy ahead. In this presentation, you will explore four major challenges HR professionals are facing today and a two-part strategy for turning the challenges into opportunities for your organization. In addition, you will look at a case study of Deloitte LLP, where the strategies have brought impressive bottom-line results, as well as employee retention, engagement, and productivity.

    This program has been approved for 1.25 strategic recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

    About the Presenter: Nancy Conway, SPHR, has been SHRM’s Field Services Director for the North Central Region since May, 2011. . She supports the Chapters, State Councils, and SHRM members in the states of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She is also responsible for region-wide initiatives in the six states with SHRM’s North Central team.

    Nancy has worked in the HR profession for over 27 years with industry experience in retail, call centers, banking, and health care. She served in a variety of chapter and state council volunteer roles prior to joining SHRM.

    Nancy received her master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
