    About the Presentation

The moment we become conscious each morning, our brain jumps into caveman mode. It interferes with getting things done, being creative, and most of all, taking appropriate risks. Our brains are hard-wired for negativity to pay five times more attention to negative stimuli than positive stimuli. They are like Velcro for bad thoughts and Teflon for good ones. If we rewire our brain, we can fix this prehistoric trait. Leave your wire strippers at home, but please bring along a brain to work on.

After attending the session, participants will be able to:

    •  Identify the benefits of rewiring our brains
    •  Understand the reason we’re wired for negativity
    •  Learn to get off auto-pilot
    •  Interrupt excessively negative internal messaging
    •  Employ strategies to respond wisely rather than react blindly

Research findings in the field of neuroscience has given us new insights into the brain, how it processes information, and how it stores it. Positive and negative experiences and information are processed differently. The program content will pull from the work of Rick Hanson, Richard Davidson, Sonja Lyubomirsky, and other research psychologists who are forging the way for retraining our brains to bring about greater resilience, work performance, and happiness.
