    About the Program
    Annual Legal Update The Annual Legal Update is a fitting way to start off your 2018 as an HR professional.  This program will help you get up to speed on several of the most significant legal developments in the HR world.  From disability law to wage and hour developments and everything in between, we will cover information that will refresh your knowledge and help you identify what needs to go on to your HR TO DO list.  

    What will be covered:

    ➢ The latest decisions by the NLRB and what they mean to your organization

    ➢ New developments in ADA and state disability law

    ➢ Key cases on at will employment and related issues

    ➢ Wage and hour developments

    About the Presenter
    Jennifer S. Mirus,​ Co-Chairperson of the Labor & Employment team at Boardman & Clark. Jennifer has been practicing employment law in Madison for over 22 years.  Jennifer represents employers in all aspects of employment relations, including hiring, discipline and terminations, wage and hour issues, discrimination, ADA, FMLA, and harassment. Jennifer also has extensive experience negotiating and drafting employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and employee handbooks. Jennifer’s experience also includes conducting workplace investigations and human resources and management trainings for clients of all sizes.  Jennifer is a proud UW-Madison alum (both undergraduate and law school) and loves calling Madison home. She is a sought out speaker for human resources groups and is a member of Boardman & Clark’s Executive Committee.  Jennifer spends her free time reading and soaking up chlorine at her three daughters’ swim meets.

    This program has been submitted for approval for general re-certification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute. This program has also been submitted for approval for SHRM recertification credit. Certification credits will be emailed to participants after attending the full sessions.
