Managing for Diversity

Diversity and inclusion are hot topics today.  What does it look like to manage for diversity?  Jon Werner, HR management professor at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, will address this topic.  He will share results of a recent national survey on diversity practices, as well as highlights from successful versus unsuccessful organizational diversity initiatives. 

About the Presenter: Jon M. Werner, is a professor in the Department of Management at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.  He earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Michigan State University.  His research has covered topics such as performance appraisal, legal issues in human resource management, team effectiveness, as well as actions that managers can engage in that build trust between employees and management.  He is co-author of two books, Human Resource Development, fifth edition, with Randy DeSimone, and Merit Pay, second edition with Robert Heneman, Professor Werner serves ont he Editorial Boards of the Academy of Management: Learning & Education and Human Resource Quarterly.  He is co-advisor of the UW-Whitewater chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
